Marae Development Project

The Maori Community wishes to establish a Marae Complex at Beach Haven.
It is envisaged that the proposed facility will not only cater to the needs of the Maori community but include and serve the needs of the wider communities of North Shore City.
The amenities will include a Wharenui (Meeting House), Wharekai (Dinning Room), Administration Block, Ablution Block, Kohanga Reo (Early Childcare Facility), Kokiri (Training Rooms) and a Workshop for bone and greenstone carving.
Te Whanau Tu Tonu o Oruamo Society Incorporated (1997) is the community development group that leads the feasibility phase of this project. The group is very well known across many sectors of the North Shore community particularly for its community service and Maori Development Initiatives.
Te Whanau Tu Tonu o Oruamo Society Incorporated strongly encourages the community and North Shore City Council to support this endeavour and give assistance and direction to ensure the Marae Development Project becomes a reality.
